Straight Into A Storm

The new album "Born on Flag Day" by Deer Tick is so refreshing and different that it truly makes me believe in music once more. I'd (not-so) recently come to the conclusion that new music sucks. But here I am, admitting that I've been proven wrong.

I'm so incredibly bullshit at the fact that I missed the Boston show on June 10th at the House of Blues, that I'm thinking about heading down to NYC on July 24th just to check them out at the Bowery.

BUSY BUSY SUMMER!

HA!

The majority of New York City is filled with prudish freaks.

Non-Effulgent

Today was a sad day:

1. My beloved vintage turntable (record player, I prefer to call it) is officially a goner thanks to my very much adored nephew.
2. I spent 16 hours between yesterday and today sitting at a cramped table with coworkers, discussing ways to make our jobs (and lives) easier and still feel as if we came up far too short.
3. I feel like I've lost something. I don't understand why or how it happened, and I want to but I can't because I'm so caught up in that shitty, useless "pride" emotion that I won't even try.

I hate feeling sorry for myself. I'm going to sleep to dream of vacationing on white sandy beaches, with unlimited beverages and hot men.

Porked

Alright, so I haven't paid much attention to the Swine Flu Pandemic (or not pandemic?) since it began back in April, but today's news that a staff member at work has been porked by it has got me slightly worried.

I despise being sick, but I guess it's just a matter of time by now.

Weeds, Man

"You're a fucking downer! ...inquistor, ruiner of days, Child of the Apocolypse."

Kevin Nealon as Doug Wilson is a fucking riot and Weeds is, by far, the most genius show in the history of television.

(Yes, I am re-watching each and every episode.)
